Who I Am...

My name is Aurélie Plessis, and I’ve been an HR professional for over 18 years. Through real-world experience, my emotional intelligence and practical insight have made me the kind of person who quickly senses what’s stuck, what’s draining people, and what’s quietly disrupting a team. I have a natural ability to pick up on what’s not being said, to create trust even in tense situations, and to design innovative, tailor-made solutions.

My strong emotional intelligence makes a real difference — in how I understand situations, in the methods I develop to move them forward, in the impact of my interventions, and in how we can measure results in real, tangible terms.

I bring together sensitivity, structure, strategic perspective, and action. I don’t just observe, I build realistic, relevant, and applicable pathways for transformation.

 

Why I Chose HR...

When I discovered human resources during my studies, I finally found a field that offered endless learning, a space that aligned with my values and gave me the chance to help people in a meaningful way.

Human beings have always fascinated me: how we function, what drives us, what we hold back, personality types, emotions, communication styles, group dynamics… and everything these elements can create, or destroy, in an organization.

My mission has always been the same: to help individuals and organizations grow and collaborate so they can reach their full potential.

- How can we hold space for emotions, responsibility, and the joy of working together, all at once?

 

What I’ve Seen in Practice...

Over the past 18 years, I’ve worked with both small businesses and large industry players. I’ve navigated rigid corporate cultures and agile, fast-moving environments. I’ve supported structured organizations and those in the midst of transformation. I’ve collaborated with recent graduates and seasoned experts, inspiring leaders and overwhelmed managers struggling with imposter syndrome, and with those often described as “neurodivergent,” a community I proudly belong to.

Across all these experiences, one thing became clear: workplace suffering has a direct impact on performance, trust, and team cohesion.
We often underestimate how much of that pain can be transformed, once we choose to face it honestly and do the work.

I’ve seen employees go home every night wondering why they still show up. Talented, committed people slowly losing confidence.

I’ve seen managers promoted without training, quietly afraid of not being enough. I’ve seen companies that looked fine on the surface, while behind the scenes, entire teams were planning their exit.

I’ve witnessed burnout, poorly managed returns, toxic team dynamics, and normalized humiliation. And I’ve also seen people ready to do better. To build something different.
They just didn’t know where to begin.

 

Why I Created HR & Souls...

I created HR & Souls to share what I’ve learned far beyond the walls of a single organization, and to help people take back ownership of their work experience.
